En route to Geraldon, we passed through some of the most beautiful sheep/wheat country you will ever see - green fields as far as the eye could see over rolling hills and dales - the greenest of green.
We stopped at an old convict settlement near Port Gregory called Lynton. This was a site of convict labour back in the 1850s. There were quite a few old buildings.
Near Port Gregory is the Pink Lake - a huge lake pink in colour caused by algae and the chemicals in the water.
We continued on to Northhamptom for morning tea and arrived in Geraldton at about 12:30pm. Geraldton is the biggest city we have been to since Darwin. There are all the shops (including a huge Bunnings & even a BCF guys!) you could need.
That afternoon we visited the post office and collected all the mail we had had forwarded on by POST RESTANTE - you can send anything to a post office if you put those words under the name of the receiver. That tells the PO to hold the parcel for one month.
Tomorrow we will explore a bit of Geraldton and also see if we can find a place televising the State of Origin live. Go Queensland.......
