Day 59: Karijini

This morning we set off to explore the many georgeous gorges of Karijini. Some people up here wear shirts emblazoned with "Not Another Gorge!".

The gorges were excellent - very pretty and if it had of been warm enough - many opportunities to swim, however it reached a max of 18 defrees today so no way, particularly when the water is freezing even in summer....

Phil & Marie - you would love Karijini - many excellent walking opportunities and great scenery.

For lunch we decided to drive to the other side of the park to the Eco Retreat - don't. They don't have lunches. We ended up eating some Nutra Grain bars, Freddo frogs and orange cream biscuits which we stole from the picnic basket - I'd love a barra burger!!!!

So, we did Karijini in a day - you could spend a week here but we are not great walkers up steep gorges. Tomorrow is my birthday and we will be travelling. We hope to stay in a free camp area between Port Hedland and Karratha.
