Day 27: Kununurra

This morning I spent a couple of hours trying to get the caravan water system working properly. It's too much trouble to explain, but in a nutshell we have not been able to use mains water pressure until now - we have had to rely on the van water tanks and the van pump which is fine except we have to fill the tanks regularly. Anyway, I bought some parts and did some under van repairs (refer to photo) and now it is 'almost' perfect.

We had lunch and then the four of us piled into Doug's car and left for our cruise on Lake Argyle with Triple J cruises. The drive to the lake is 70km on bitumen. When we got to the lake, we watched a video on the making of the dam back in the early 70s, then left on the cruise. Lake Argyle is enormous - something like 28 Sydney Harbours - the lake reached a record storage this year about 7 metres higher than it's usual water level. When on one side, you can't see the other - massive. I took heaps of photos!

Doug went for a swim, but there were only about three people out of 60 who did - believe it or not, it was actually a cool day with a strong wind blowing. The cruise went from 2:45 to 5:45 after which we drove home.

Tomorrow we are visiting Wyndham on the coast and also Emma Lodge (part of El Questro).
