Day 88: Perth

We caught the bus opposite the caravan park at 9:50am and headed into town (Perth). A Day Rider ticket cost $9.30 and for that we could catch any bus, tram, or ferry we wanted to (I think!)

Once we arrived at the Perth Bus Station, we got onto another bus which did a couple of blocks of the city and eventually deposited us at Barracks Jetty on the Swan. Here we had morning tea, booked a Wine Cruise to the Swan Valley for tomorrow (usually $135 but with our National Seniors Card only $80!!!!). We then boarded a double decker bus which took us on a two hour trip around Perth with commentary. It was good but we had had enough of buses after that.

Some of the things we saw - the bell tower, the beautiful Kings Park Botanic Gardens, Burswood Entertainment Complex and casino, a panoramic view of the city, the city centre, the Swan River, etc. Perth has an incredible amount of parkland. In that regard it is a bit like Canberra although not as easy to get lost as Canberra. We drove past the Perth Mint and the museum but did not have time to visit.

We headed into the mall in the city and had lunch, did a bit of window shopping then came home (on another bus). Didn't get back to the van until 6:30pm - a pretty big day. Where did it go???
