Day 120: Adelaide

We slept in this morning until 8am. After breakfast we caught a bus (right outside our caravan park) into the city - it took 10 minutes and we were the only ones on the bus!  We bought a Day pass which cost $8.80 each and would allow us to catch any public transport in the city for the whole day.

Adelaide is a pleasant city. The CBD is surrounded by parks and gardens and the city streets are very wide.  Adelaide did not develop in a haphazard manner like many cities - it was designed by Colonel William Light, the first Surveyor-General of SA in the 1830s and progressed from there a bit like how Canberra was developed.

Rundle Mall is in ther centre of the city and is a great place to shop or have a coffee. Also, within walking distance is the museum, Art Gallery and the city  markets which are fantastic if you want fresh fruit, veges, cheese, meat, fish, etc.
