Day 122: Adelaide (Glenelg)

I remember learning the place name 'Glenelg' while at primary school because the word is a palindrome - didn't know anything about it or where it was but I did know that it said the same thing whether spelt backwards or forwards!!

We caught the tram/light rail to Glenelg and it took approx 45 minutes. If I had to describe Glenelg, I would call it Adelaide's St Kilda - a seaside location near the city. Glenelg is a city in its own right and while there we did some window shopping, went through the Bay Discovery Centre - a mini-museum about Glenelg and had lunch. Then it was back to Adelaide on the tram before catching our bus back to the van park.

Tomorrow we may do something or just have a rest day. On Wednesday we will head for the Barossa Valley and stay there a couple of nights before moving on. We are not sure where we are moving on to yet - either north to the Murray River or south to Mt Gambier?

  1. Got to say the holiday has done you both the world of good.
Very envious of the fantastic time that you have had, but I do appreciate the fact that you have shared each day with us.

  2. It's been a great holiday - now that it's getting towards the end, I reckon I could have 6 months break then do it all again!!!!
